Abstract The cleavage of single-crystal GaP was studied by measuring the fracture toughness on the (100), (110), and (111) planes. It was observed that (110) is the preferred cleavage plane with a fracture toughness of only 0.65 ± 0.03 MPa m 1 2 and a fracture surface energy of 1.46 ± 0.07 J/m2.

Stable carbon phosphide anions have been prepared by the reaction of small carbon anions (Cn – n = 3–9) with gaseous P4. The Cn – anions, produced by laser ablation, were trapped and reacted in a Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer. The compositions of the anions formed were CnP, CnP2 ,C 4P4 ,C nP5.

Hydrogen phosphide intoxication
Zentralblatt für Arbeitsmedizin, Arbeitsschutz und Ergonomie, 2011Containers are used for transporting products. In many containers from South East Asia a fumigant is added as pesticide. The fumigants used are very toxic for employees handling or transporting the containers. In our centre we saw more than 50 victims of gassed containers in two years. One of the fumigants is hydrogen phosphide.

Toxicological Studies of Zinc Phosphide†
Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1952An investigation has been made to determine some of the acute and chronic effects of zinc phosphide, a rodenticide. Sublethal administration of this compound to domesticated albino rats produces damage to liver and lungs without visible effects on other organs.

AbstractThe composition of schreibersite is very variable, but frequently polygons of iron, nickel‐cobalt, and phosphorus percentages strongly suggest that the formula is Fe2NiP. A secondary maximum in the nickel‐cobalt polygon, together with a study of the individual analyses, indicates that, in general, the phosphide known as rhabdite has somewhat ...

Synthesis of Gallium Phosphide
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1971An open‐flow synthesis system for the production of polycrystalline , using flowing over Ga in a temperature gradient, has been investigated with regard to purity of the product and yield of in terms of the elements Ga and P. This material is suitable as starting material for single‐crystal growth by the liquid‐encapsulated Czochralski technique ...

Abstract Polycrystalline ingots of indium phosphide have been synthesized using the direct reaction technique. Indium phosphide has been grown under various phosphorus pressures (3 to 30 atm). Several temperature profiles were used to study the effect of temperature on mobility, carrier concentration, grain size, homogeneity, and stoichiometry ...

The fundamental absorption edge of amorphous gallium phosphide (a-GaP) is about 1 eV, which is considerably smaller than that of c-GaP (-2.25 eV at 300 K). Amorphous GaP film is, thus, nontransparent and metallic in appearance. It has been shown [1] that incorporation of hydrogen of 90 mol.% increases the absorption edge by about 0.6 eV and electrical ...
