Photolysis of phosphine in the presence of acetylene and propyne, gas mixtures of planetary interest
Advances in Space Research, 1995Phosphine (PH3) 1 has been observed in the atmospheres of Jupiter and Saturn. We have studied the photochemical reactions of this compound with acetylene (C2H2), an alkyne also detected in these atmospheres. The volatile products formed in these reactions were characterized by H, 31P and 13C NMR.

Gas‐phase ion chemistry in the ternary silane–propyne–phosphine system
Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2004AbstractThe gas‐phase ion chemistry of propyne–phosphine and silane–propyne–phosphine mixtures was studied by ion trap mass spectrometry. For the binary mixture, the effect of different partial pressures of the reagents on the yield of C and P‐containing ions was evaluated. Reaction sequences and rate constants were determined and reaction efficiencies

Three Fatalities Involving Phosphine Gas, Produced as a Result of Methamphetamine Manufacturing
Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1999Abstract In August of 1996, Sheriff's deputies investigated the deaths of three individuals suspected to have been overcome by phosphine gas. Phosphine is an extremely toxic gas, and is generally seen in the farming industry where it is used as a grain fumigant.

Sorption Kinetics and Equilibrium Isotherms of Phosphine Gas into Wheat Kernels
Journal of the ASABEHighlightsThe pseudo-first order kinetic model fits well with the experimental data of sorbed phosphine versus time.Sorption isotherm curves were developed using Langmuir, Freundlich, and Redlich-Peterson models.Phosphine adsorption capacity of wheat kernels increased with increase in applied concentration (400-2400 ppm).Abstract.
