Efficacy and safety of ME3183, an oral phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor, in patients with plaque psoriasis

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
We assessed four different doses of ME3183, a novel phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor, and placebo in 132 patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. At Week 16, more patients receiving ME3183 achieved ≥75% reduction in baseline Psoriasis Area and Severity Index scores than those receiving placebo, with no new safety concerns.

The long‐term outcome and changes in tricuspid regurgitation pressure gradient in dogs diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension and Angiostrongylus vasorum infestation

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.
Objectives Angiostrongylus vasorum (AV) is a metastrongylid parasite that has been associated with pulmonary hypertension (PH) in dogs. The objectives of the study were to describe the clinical presentation of dogs with AV and PH, document changes in tricuspid regurgitation maximum pressure gradient (TR Max PG) in subsequent months and years, record ...

Entomopathogenic Nematodes Induce Metabolic Reallocation in Maize Roots Without Altering the Performance of Two Root Herbivores, Diabrotica virgifera and Diabrotica balteata

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) are key biological control agents in agriculture, but their direct effects on plant metabolism and resistance to herbivory remain underexplored. By combining transcriptomic, metabolomic, and herbivore assays, this study aimed at providing a holistic description of maize root responses to EPNs and to assess ...

Early Evidence of Safety, Clinical Benefit, and Pharmacokinetics of Roflumilast Cream 0.3% Once Daily for Treatment of Mild or Moderate Plaque Psoriasis in Children Aged 2–11 Years

open access: yesPediatric Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Two 4‐week, phase 2, open‐label, maximal usage pharmacokinetic (PK) and safety studies of once‐daily roflumilast cream 0.3% (a potent phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor) were conducted in children aged 2–5 years and 6–11 years with psoriasis. Evidence of systemic exposure to roflumilast and its active N‐oxide metabolite was seen in most patients ...

Impact of acute caffeine intake on local tolerance to cold before and after total sleep deprivation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Total sleep deprivation (TSD) alters local cold tolerance and could thus increase the risk of cold injury. We evaluated the impact of acute caffeine intake, the main countermeasure to TSD‐related deleterious effects, on local cold tolerance before and after TSD.
