Single plate separation of lung phospholipids including disaturated phosphatidylcholine.

open access: hybridJournal of Lipid Research, 1983
We have developed an improved thin-layer chromatographic method for separation of lung phospholipids. Individual phospholipids are completely separated in the first dimension. All phospholipids, except phosphatidylcholine, are then removed.

Disease-related PSS1 mutant impedes the formation and function of osteoclasts

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2023
Phosphatidylserine (PS) is an acidic phospholipid that is involved in various cellular events. Heterologous dominant mutations have been identified in the gene encoding PS synthase 1 (PSS1) in patients with a congenital disease called Lenz-Majewski ...

Phospholipid synthesis inside phospholipid membrane vesicles

open access: yesCommunications Biology, 2022
AbstractConstruction of living artificial cells from genes and molecules can expand our understanding of life system and establish a new aspect of bioengineering. However, growth and division of cell membrane that are basis of cell proliferation are still difficult to reconstruct because a high-yielding phospholipid synthesis system has not been ...

Phospholipid—the dynamic structure between living and non-living world; a much obligatory supramolecule for present and future

open access: yesAIMS Molecular Science, 2019
Phospholipids (PLs) are amphiphilic molecules that are in charge of controlling what goes in or out of the cell, keeping up the structure and numerous associated functions.

Protocol to purify and detect ubiquitinated phospholipids in budding yeast and human cell lines

open access: yesSTAR Protocols, 2023
Summary: Ubiquitin is covalently conjugated to phospholipids as well as proteins; however, ubiquitinated phospholipids are less abundant than free ubiquitin and ubiquitinated proteins.
