Determining the effect of drying time on phosphorus solubilization from three agricultural soils under climate change scenarios [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Climate projections for the future indicate that the United Kingdom will experience hotter, drier summers and warmer, wetter winters, bringing longer dry periods followed by rewetting.

Sustainable Phosphorylated Cellulose Nanocrystals: A Dual‐Affinity Platform for High‐Efficiency Enrichment of Intact Glycopeptides and Phosphopeptides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
AAA ABSTRACT Protein glycosylation and phosphorylation are critical post‐translational modifications (PTMs) governing nearly all cellular functions, yet their analysis remains challenging due to reliance on costly and unsustainable enrichment materials.

Development of a Multifunctional Phosphate-Solubilizing Bacterial Consortium for the Improvement of Saline–Alkali Soils

open access: yesAgronomy
Saline–alkali soils suffer from severe deficiencies in available phosphorus, and externally added phosphorus is readily immobilized by metal ions in the soil. Therefore, activating inorganic phosphorus in the soil represents a significant challenge.

Tracking of [14C]Polystyrene Nanoplastics in Pregnant Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates [14C]polystyrene nanoplastic ([14C]PS) translocation in late‐stage pregnant mice after intranasal (0.5 mg of [14C]PS on GD12, GD14, and GD16, n = 6) and intravenous administration (1.5 mg of [14C]PS on GD16, n = 6). 14C‐radiolabel allows quantitative tracking of unmodified polystyrene nanoplastics.

Increasing the diversity of leguminous plant improves soil functionalities and wheat growth in a P-deficient soil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A study was conducted in glasshouse conditions to assess the influences of the leguminous plant diversity on the soil microbial functions and their consequences on the wheat growth. Three legume species were targeted: faba bean, alfalfa and pea.

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

Studies on the Phosphorus-Solubilizing Ability of Isaria cateinannulata and Its Influence on the Growth of Fagopyrum tataricum Plants

open access: yesPlants
I. cateinannulata has been shown to promote the growth of F. tataricum. However, whether its growth-promoting capacity is related to its ability to solubilize phosphorus has not been reported.

Assessment of phosphorus solubilization potential by Aspergillus terreus

open access: yes, 2021

Valorization of Bones to Liquid Phosphorus Fertilizer by Microbial Solubilization [PDF]

open access: yesWaste and Biomass Valorization, 2013
Problem of decreasing resources of phosphate rock for phosphorus fertilizers production, can be mitigated by biological degradation of low quality substrates, performed by bacterial species able to produce mineral and low molecular organic acids. It was found that Bacillus megaterium was able to solubilize phosphorus incorporated with organic matter ...
