Effect of Curcumin on Phosphorylation of AMPK and ACC in C2C12 Skeletal Muscle Cells

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ’Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Shahīd Ṣadūqī Yazd, 2013
Introduction: AMP activated protein kinase (AMPK) as key regulators of cell metabolism, plays a major role in the activation of catabolic pathways, such as glucose transport and fatty acid oxidation.

Rhapontici Radix Extract Inhibits Colorectal Intraepithelial Neoplasia by Regulating the YAP/PI3K-AKT Signaling Pathway: Evidence from Animal Models, Organoids, and Cytological Studies

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: Colorectal intraepithelial neoplasia (CR-EN) is a precursor lesion of colitis-associated colorectal cancer (CAC). This study investigated the interventional effects and molecular mechanisms of Rhapontici Radix extract on CR-EN.

Phosphorylated Forms of STAT1, STAT3 and STAT5 Are Expressed in Proliferating but Not Involuted Infantile Hemangioma

open access: yesFrontiers in Surgery, 2018
We have recently demonstrated the expression of embryonic stem cell markers on the endothelium of infantile hemangioma, a functional hemogenic endothelium with the capacity for primitive erythropoiesis in vitro.

Serine Biosynthesis In Human Hair Follicles By The Phosphorylated Pathway: Follicular 3-Phosphoglycerate Dehydrogenase [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
The phosphorylated pathway of serine biosynthesis was demonstrated in human hair bulbs and sheaths by the format ion of phosphoserine and serine from [14C]3-phosphoglyceric acid.

Mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities of the ribotoxic stress response in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer cells' high translational demand creates opportunities to therapeutically target ribosome function. Ribosome stalling and collisions activate ZAKα and the ribotoxic stress response (RSR), which can trigger rapid, p53‐independent apoptosis in cancer.

Structural basis of human Mediator recruitment by the phosphorylated transcription factor Elk-1

open access: yesNature Communications
One function of Mediator complex subunit MED23 is to mediate transcriptional activation by the phosphorylated transcription factor Elk-1, in response to the Ras-MAPK signaling pathway.

Charge environments around phosphorylation sites in proteins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background: Phosphorylation is a central feature in many biological processes. Structural analyses have identified the importance of charge-charge interactions, for example mediating phosphorylation-driven allosteric change and protein binding to ...

A role for eIF5A in translational control of stress‐inducible proteins in multiple myeloma cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of eIF5A rewires thapsigargin‐mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress responses in multiple myeloma cells by selective translation of mRNA transcripts, consequently dampening thapsigargin‐induced unfolded protein response (UPR) activation and shifting the balance from induction of apoptosis toward cell survival and proliferation.

Decreased Phosphorylated Protein Kinase B (Akt) in Individuals with Autism Associated with High Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) and Low Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA)

open access: yes, 2015
Dysregulation of the PI3K/AKT/ mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway could contribute to the pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorders. In this study, phosphorylated Akt concentration was measured in 37 autistic children and 12, gender and age ...
