Polyphosphate:AMP Phosphotransferase and Polyphosphate:ADP Phosphotransferase Activities of Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2001
In Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1, we have found massive polyphosphate:AMP phosphotransferase activity and polyphosphate:ADP phosphotransferase activity known as the reverse catalytic activity of polyphosphate kinase which participates in polyphosphate synthesis in the bacterium.

[71] Acyl phosphate: Hexose phosphotransferase (hexose phosphate: Hexose phosphotransferase)

1966
Publisher Summary This chapter reveals that the acyl phosphate: hexose phosphotransferase is a constitutive enzyme in Aerobacter aerogenes PRL-R3 and is present in cells grown under a variety of conditions. The assay of choice involves the measurement of D-glucose 6-phosphate formed from D-glucose plus acetyl phosphate by coupling the reaction to ...

Transposable Neomycin Phosphotransferases

1977
Transposable genetic elements are discrete DNA segments with the capacity to move between independent DNA replicons within the cell. The recent discoveries that certain plasmid-borne genes, which confer resistance to antibiotics and to heavy metals, are components of transposable elements has improved our understanding of how plasmids might pick up ...
