Potential Role of Lysine Acetylation in Antibiotic Resistance of Escherichia coli

open access: yesmSystems, 2022
Antibiotic resistance is increasingly becoming a challenge to public health. The regulation of bacterial metabolism by post-translational modifications (PTMs) has been widely studied.

Synergistic Effect of Oleanolic Acid on Aminoglycoside Antibiotics against Acinetobacter baumannii. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Difficulties involved in treating drug-resistant pathogens have created a need for new therapies. In this study, we investigated the possibility of using oleanolic acid (OA), a natural pentacyclic triterpenoid, as a natural adjuvant for antibiotics ...

Synthesis and Antibacterial Evaluation of New Pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidines Kinase Inhibitors

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidines represent an important class of heterocyclic compounds well-known for their anticancer activity exerted by the inhibition of eukaryotic protein kinases.

Cloning, transformation and expression of cell cycle-associated protein kinase OsWee1 in indica rice (Oryza sativa L.)

open access: yesJournal of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, 2018
The development process of seed in plants is a cycle of cells which occur gradually and regularly. One of the genes involved in controling this stage is the Wee1 gene.

Rapid and liquid-based selection of genetic switches using nucleoside kinase fused with aminoglycoside phosphotransferase.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The evolutionary design of genetic switches and circuits requires iterative rounds of positive (ON-) and negative (OFF-) selection. We previously reported a rapid OFF selection system based on the kinase activity of herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase (

Transposase‐Assisted Donor Tethering Boosts Large‐Fragment HDR in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transposase‐assisted donor tethering strategy is developed to enhance homology‐directed repair in plants. By recruiting donor DNA to double‐strand breaks and synergizing with repair pathway reprogramming and transcription‐coupled donor design, this system markedly improves large‐fragment targeted insertion efficiency, providing a robust platform for ...

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Comparison of Receptor‐Mediated Endocytosis and Its Application to Enhance DNA Transfection by TFAMoplex

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
We developed an assay to distinguish cellular binding from internalization. Compatible with microscopy and high‐throughput screening, the method identifies ligand‐mediated uptake. Applying top candidates to a protein‐based DNA carrier enhanced transfection efficiency, providing a rational strategy to improve non‐viral gene delivery systems.
