Corramycin, a myxobacterial natural product antibiotic, exhibits potent bactericidal activity against multidrug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The compound hijacks bacterial transporters such as BacA and OppABCD to enter the cell and inhibits DNA synthesis through a previously unrecognized mode of DNA gyrase poisoning, locking the enzyme in an ...

Background Recent studies have identified hearing loss (HL) as a primary risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) onset. However, the mechanisms linking HL to AD are not fully understood. This study explored the effects of drug-induced hearing loss (DIHL)

vvrr1, a small RNA, post‐transcriptionally represses the transcriptional regulator LeuO, which directly inhibits the VarS/VarA two‐component system. This triggers a Csr cascade that relieves LuxO repression, ultimately modulating exopolysaccharide production to control biofilm formation and virulence in Vibrio alginolyticus.

Using an immunocompetent mouse model of Egfr Ex19del‐driven lung cancer, we found that osimertinib‐resistant tumors acquired Egfr V804F, the murine counterpart of human EGFR V802F. Afatinib, but not osimertinib, suppressed phosphorylation of EGFR and overcame V804F‐mediated resistance, providing a preclinical rationale for biomarker‐guided therapy ...

Pyridoxal 5′‐phosphate (PLP) homeostasis relies on salvage enzymes, yet key metabolic branches remain undefined. We identify AKR1C isozymes as previously undescribed contributors that convert pyridoxal into pyridoxine or 4‐pyridoxolactone through reductase and dehydrogenase activities.

A chemo‐enzymatic colorimetric cascade for detecting ethylene glycol contamination
A chemo‐enzymatic cascade is developed for ethylene glycol (EG) detection. EG is oxidized by GoADH with C1‐mediated cofactor recycling to produce glycolaldehyde (GAL). GAL subsequently reacts with purpald to generate a detectable purple chromophore.

FTO regulates mRNA stability and translational efficiency through its m6A‐demethylation activity. GSK3 functions as an upstream regulator of FTO, leading to its inhibition via phosphorylation. In male germ cells, FTO activity is kept in check by GSK3α.

Clostridioides difficile toxins TcdA and TcdB enter intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) via specific receptors, disrupt tight‐junction integrity and activate PI3K/Akt/mTOR signalling, promoting inflammasome assembly and IL‐1β release. Toxin‐induced IEC apoptosis further weakens the epithelial barrier.

The glycosyltransferase All4160 is regulated by the reversible phosphorylation of Ser74. The kinase Alr3423 phosphorylates and inactivates All4160, while the SpoIIE‐like phosphatase HenR restores its activity through dephosphorylation. A nonphosphorylatable variant of All4160 bypasses the need for HenR, which demonstrates that a phosphorylation ...
