Degradação de benzeno, tolueno e xilenos em águas contaminadas por gasolina, utilizando-se processos foto-Fenton Degradation of benzene, toluene and xilenes in gasoline-contaminated waters by photo-Fenton processes

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2009
In this work the potentiality of photo-Fenton processes were investigated toward the degradation of aromatic hydrocarbons (BTXs) from water contaminated with gasoline.

Evaluation of different sample preparation procedures using chemometrics: comparison among photo-fenton reaction, microwave irradiation, and direct determination of minerals in fruit juices. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this work, an exploratory study about the mineral characteristic of some fruit juice (passion fruit, pineapple, orange, and grape) applying chemometric tools was made.

Surface‐Bound Superoxide Radical‐Mediated Photo‐Fenton Mineralization of Ciprofloxacin on Fe‐Sillenite Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study systematically compares the degradation efficiency of CIP in a H2O2‐alone system and a novel Bi12FeO20‐H2O2 photo‐Fenton system. It reveals for the first time the presence of a quinone‐imine intermediate in the H2O2‐alone system, which exhibits toxicity comparable to CIP.

Degradação de poluentes emergentes por processos Fenton e foto-Fenton

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2012
A continuous photochemical treatment system was developed for aiming the treatment of aqueous solutions containing relevant micro-pollutants (microcystin-LR, sulfamethoxazole and 17-b estradiol).

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Characterization and Control Strategies of an Integrated Chemical-Biological System for the Remediation of Toxic Pollutants in Wastewater: A case of study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In a previous work, a hybrid system consisting of an advanced oxidation process (AOP) named Photo-Fenton (Ph-F) and a fixed bed biological treatment operating as a sequencing batch biofilm reactor (SBBR) was started-up and optimized to treat 200 mg·L-1 ...

ROS Self‐Supply Nanoplatform Based on Fenton Catalyst for Chemodynamic and Immunotherapy: Reprogramming Cold Tumor Into Hot Tumor in Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional HA‐conjugated nanoplatform (HA‐PGMC) integrates CuO2, glucose oxidase, and mil‐100 to enable cascade catalytic ROS generation in tumor microenvironments. This self‐supplying ROS strategy induces immunogenic cell death, reprograms “cold” tumors into “hot” ones, and synergizes with PD‐L1 blockade, achieving potent chemodynamic ...

A Comparison of the Environmental Impact of Different AOPs : Risk Indexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Today, environmental impact associated with pollution treatment is a matter of great concern. A method is proposed for evaluating environmental risk associated with Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) applied to wastewater treatment.

Construction of a MOF‐Based Snap‐Top Delivery Nanosystem for Powerful Dual‐Responsive Synergistic Colitis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A snap‐top delivery nanosystem based on an azobenzene metal–organic framework achieves targeted release of 6‐mercaptopurine via acid‐stable frameworks and hypoxia/pH dual‐responsive β‐cyclodextrin gates. This multifunctional platform integrates three synergistic mechanisms: precision drug delivery to inflammatory sites, intrinsic antioxidant properties

Landfill Leachates Treatment by /UV, /, Modified Fenton, and Modified Photo-Fenton Methods

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2012
Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) such as H2O2/UV, O3/H2O2, modified Fenton, and modified photo-Fenton processes have been investigated in terms of the treatment of landfill leachate with ratio of BOD5/COD in the range of 0.22 to 0.24. The modification
