2D van der Waals System Integrated with Targeting Radio‐Diagnostic and Imaging Functions

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoplates were engineered for tumor‐targeted imaging and therapy. By exploiting folate receptor (FR) expression levels, the system achieves selective tumor accumulation and high‐resolution dual PET/fluorescence (PET/FL) imaging.

The necrosis-avid small molecule HQ4-DTPA as a multimodal imaging agent for monitoring radiation therapy-induced tumor cell death.

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2016
Purpose: Most effective antitumor therapies induce tumor cell death. Non-invasive, rapid and accurate quantitative imaging of cell death is essential for monitoring early response to antitumor therapies.

Two‐Photon Endomicroscopy for Image‐Guided Magnetic Micro‐Agents

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Image‐guided manipulation of magnetic micro‐agents requires localized fluorescence feedback capable of resolving dynamic interactions in confined environments. This study introduces a two‐photon endomicroscopy platform for real‐time motion tracking, multicolor micro‐agent discrimination, and imaging through biological tissue.

Optimizing photoacoustic image reconstruction using cross-platform parallel computation

open access: yesVisual Computing for Industry, Biomedicine, and Art, 2018
Three-dimensional (3D) image reconstruction involves the computations of an extensive amount of data that leads to tremendous processing time. Therefore, optimization is crucially needed to improve the performance and efficiency.

Advances in research on layered double hydroxides for biomedical applications

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) are pH‐responsive nanomaterials with broad biomedical applications. This review summarizes LDH synthesis methods and compares their advantages. It highlights LDHs' progress in cancer therapy, including chemo‐photothermal, chemo‐immunotherapy, and photodynamic‐immunotherapy combinations and their potential in bone repair.

Compressed Sensing With a Gaussian Scale Mixture Model for Limited View Photoacoustic Computed Tomography In Vivo

open access: yes, 2018
Photoacoustic computed tomography using an ultrasonic array is an attractive noninvasive imaging modality for many biomedical applications. However, the potentially long data acquisition time of array-based photoacoustic computed tomography-usually due ...

Fiber-optic annular detector array for large depth of field photoacoustic macroscopy

open access: yesPhotoacoustics, 2017
We report on a novel imaging system for large depth of field photoacoustic scanning macroscopy. Instead of commonly used piezoelectric transducers, fiber-optic based ultrasound detection is applied.

Nanomedicine applications in lymphoma: Advancing precision diagnostics, targeted therapeutics, and prospective developments

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Lymphoma is a group of blood cancers that can appear in lymph nodes, blood, bone marrow, spleen, liver, or the central nervous system, which makes drug delivery and disease monitoring difficult. This review summarizes how nanomedicine technologies may improve targeted treatment and imaging, while carefully separating approved or guideline‐supported ...
