On–Off Switchable Micromotors for Use in Steerable Microvehicles
Electrically controllable micromotors and microvehicles are developed by tuning the diffusion of the fuel. Self‐propelled micromotors using bubble propulsion show great promise for miniaturized devices with multiuse purposes such as cargo delivery and sensing. However, there is currently no method to electrically switch the micromotors on or off. Here,

The magnetically photocatalytic particles prepared have a core-shell structure of three layers coating magnetite core particles with silica and titania by the hydrolysis of tetraethoxysilane and titanium tetraisopropoxide, respectively. The thicknesses of silica and titania layers were controlled by changing the concentrations of two alkoixides used ...

Fuel‐free Cu2O‐based micromotors functionalized with β‐cyclodextrin actively remove bisphenol A from water under visible light. The cyclodextrin shell captures BPA and enhances micromotor motility, leading to faster degradation and higher overall removal than nonfunctionalized Cu2O and Cu2O@Au.
