Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.

Photocatalytic CO2 Activation by Water
Photocatalytic activation of CO2 and water has potential for producing fuels by conversion of photon energy. However, the low productivity still limits practical application. In this study, the goal was to gain more fundamental insight in CO2 activation, and to provide guidelines for rational design of improved photocatalytic systems.

ABSTRACT Piezocatalytic therapy (PCT) harnesses mechanical energy to generate tumor‐lethal reactive oxygen species (ROS), but its efficacy is limited by rapid electron‐hole recombination and poor intratumoral retention. To overcome these limitations, we engineered heterostructured BiOCl@CuO nanosheets embedded in an injectable, conductive ...

Photocatalytic Decomposition of Phenol under Visible and UV Light Utilizing Titanium Dioxide Based Catalysts [PDF]
Pollution in wastewater effluvia from phenol and phenolic compounds is a common occurrence in many industrial manufacturing plants. Phenol is toxic to human beings as well as a contaminant to the environment, meanwhile, it is difficult to remove from ...

This study systematically compares the degradation efficiency of CIP in a H2O2‐alone system and a novel Bi12FeO20‐H2O2 photo‐Fenton system. It reveals for the first time the presence of a quinone‐imine intermediate in the H2O2‐alone system, which exhibits toxicity comparable to CIP.
