CeO2 nanoparticles were obtained by heating 50 mL of 0.1 M Ce(NO3) 3·6H2O solution mixed with 5 mL of 1 M NH3 aq. at 368 K for 24 h. When H2O and ethanol were used as solvents for cerium nitrate hydrate, obtained CeO2 nanoparticles were aggregated.

Photochromism in inorganic crystallised compounds
Photochromism is a phenomenon describing the irradiation-induced reversible transformation of a chemical compound's colour between two states (dubbed as colour switch). This review makes an up-to-date account of inorganic photochromic compounds.

Simultaneous readout of multiple FRET pairs using photochromism
Performing multiple FRET measurements at once can be challenging. Here the authors report a method to discriminate between overlapping FRET pairs, even if the fluorophores display almost identical absorption and emission spectra, based on the ...

Polyoxometalate Based Organic-Inorganice Nanocomposites
The organic-inorganic nanocomposites were synthesized by sol-gel techniques. The constructed film renders photochromism, which can be tuned by choosing suitable polyoxometalates (POM). The molybdenum POMs show better photochromism than the tungsten POMs,

Electron paramagnetic resonance and photochromism of $\mathrm{N}_{3}\mathrm{V}^{0}$ in diamond [PDF]
The defect in diamond formed by a vacancy surrounded by three nearest-neighbor nitrogen atoms and one carbon atom, $\mathrm{N}_{3}\mathrm{V}$, is found in $\approx98\%$ of natural diamonds.
