Photochromism, Thermochromism, and Electrochromism in Solid-State Host-Guest Inclusion Complexes of β-Cyclodextrin with Dialkylcarboxyl-Substituted Viologens.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces
Multi-stimuli-responsive chromic materials have immense potential for utilization. Herein, two supramolecular inclusion complexes were prepared by self-assembly of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) with dialkylcarboxyl-substituted viologens, N,N'-di(3-carboxy-propyl)

Photochromic Relaxation Kinetics

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2005
ABSTRACT A new method for evaluating the rate constants of chemical reactions has been developed based on the differential photoconversion efficiencies of photochromic FRET acceptors incorporated into molecules on both sides of a chemical equilibrium.

Investigation of the Photochromism of WO3, TiO2, and Composite WO3-TiO2 Nanoparticles.

Inorganic Chemistry
We report the synthesis of WO3, TiO2, and TiO2-WO3 nanoparticles by a polyol route, with the objective of studying the influence of the preparation method on their photochromic properties. By combining transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction,

Light and Heat-Driven Flexible Solid Supramolecular Polymer Displaying Phosphorescence and Reversible Photochromism.

Small
Herein, a type of light- and heat-driven flexible supramolecular polymer with reversibly long-lived phosphorescence and photochromism is constructed from acrylamide copolymers with 4-phenylpyridinium derivatives containing a cyano group (P-CN, P-oM, P-mM)

Lightguiding in Photochromic Glasses

Applied Optics, 1974
Lightguiding in ion-exchanged photochromic glass layers is reported. The guides were formed by ion exchange of Ag(+) for Na(+) or by outdiffusion of F. Guide attenuation was less than 0.2 dB/cm in many cases. The attenuation in the guide was varied over a range of Deltaalpha = 30 dB/cm by illuminating the guide with (1) uv radiation to darken the guide

Pressure‐Triggered Photochromism in Chiral Salicylaldehyde Schiff Bases

Chinese journal of chemistry
Salicylaldehyde Schiff base is a kind of important photochromism system, whose photochromism process is widely acknowledged to be co‐determined by the electronic structure and molecular conformation. Normally, salicylaldehyde Schiff base derivatives with
