Photodissociation of interstellar ArH+ [PDF]
Aims. Following the recent detection of 36ArH+ in the Crab nebula spectrum, we have computed the photodissociation rate of ArH+ in order to constrain the physical processes at work in this environment. Methods.

The population on 6p2 3P2 metastable state and 6p2 3P0 ground state of Pb atoms are de-monstrated, which are originated from dissociating PbCl2 by the fourth harmonic of YAG lasers. The population ratio of 3P2 to 3P0 is measured in terms of laser-induced fluorescence.

Wavelength-dependent photodissociation of iodomethylbutane. [PDF]
Abstract Ultrashort XUV pulses of the Free-Electron-LASer in Hamburg (FLASH) were used to investigate laser-induced fragmentation patterns of the prototypical chiral molecule 1-iodo-2-methyl-butane ( $$\hbox {C}_5$$ $$\hbox {H}_{11}$$ I) in a pump-probe scheme. Ion velocity-map

Photodissociation dynamics of N3+ [PDF]
The photodissociation dynamics of N3+ excited from its (linear) 3Σg−/(bent) 3A″ ground to the first excited singlet and triplet states is investigated. Three-dimensional potential energy surfaces for the 1A′, 1A″, and 3A′ electronic states, correlating with the 1Δg and 3Πu states in linear geometry, for N3+ are constructed using high-level electronic ...

Iron monoxide photodissociation [PDF]
The photodissociation of Fe56O was studied by means of the velocity map imaging technique. A molecular beam of iron atoms and iron monoxide molecules was created using an electrical discharge with an iron electrode in a supersonic expansion of molecular oxygen.

The Catalyzed Photodissociation of Water [PDF]
Abstract Chemical interactions between molecules in excited electronic, vibrational, or rotational states and surfaces is a new field of catalytic science. Until recently, catalysis of chemical reactions has only been considered for molecules in their thermodynamic ground states.

Photodissociation of water in crystalline ice: a molecular dynamics study [PDF]
Ultraviolet irradiation of ice is of great interest for understanding the chemistry in both atmospheric and astrophysical environments. In interstellar space, photodissociation of H2O molecules can be a driving force behind the chemistry on icy dust ...

C60IN PHOTODISSOCIATION REGIONS [PDF]
Recent studies have confirmed the presence of buckminsterfullerene (C$_{60}$) in different interstellar and circumstellar environments. However, several aspects regarding C$_{60}$ in space are not well understood yet, such as the formation and excitation processes, and the connection between C$_{60}$ and other carbonaceous compounds in the interstellar

Photodissociation and photoionisation of atoms and molecules of astrophysical interest [PDF]
A new collection of photodissociation and photoionisation cross sections for 102 atoms and molecules of astrochemical interest has been assembled, along with a brief review of the basic processes involved.

Structure of Stationary Photodissociation Fronts [PDF]
The structure of stationary photodissociation fronts is revisited. H_2 self- shielding is discussed, including the effects of line overlap. We find that line overlap is important for N(H_2) > 10^{20} cm^{-2}.
