Full-field pulsed magneto-photoelasticity – Experimental Implementation [PDF]
This paper contains a description of the experimental procedure employed when using a pulsed-magneto-polariscope (PMP) and some initial full-field through-thickness measurements of the stress distribution present in samples containing 3D stresses.

Stress State in an Eccentric Elastic Ring Loaded Symmetrically by Concentrated Forces
The stress state from an eccentric ring made of an elastic material symmetrically loaded on the outer boundary by concentrated forces is deduced. The analytical results are obtained using the Airy stress function expressed in bipolar coordinates.

Use of an automatic device for the determination of mechanical properties on photoelastic samples of small dimensions [PDF]
Photoelastic materials and Photoelasticity have been very effective in the study of the effects of stress and strain in materials such as iron, steel, concrete, etc.

Load estimation from photoelastic fringe patterns under combined normal and shear forces [PDF]
Recently there has been some spurt of interests to use photoelastic materials for sensing applications. This has been successfully applied for designing a number of signal-based sensors, however, there have been limited efforts to design image-based ...

Stress-optical coefficients of copolymers [PDF]
The stress-optical coefficient Cσ of copolymers based on cured epoxy resins has been calculated. Calculations were made for epoxy resins based on bisphenol A and aliphatic and aromatic diamines.

Acoustic localisation in a two-dimensional granular medium [PDF]
We focus on localizing the source of acoustic emissions within a compressed two-dimensional granular ensemble of photoelastic disks, having as main information the arrival times of the acoustic signal to 6 sensors located in the boundaries of the system.
