Nonideal Photoelectron Counting
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1974Expressions are obtained for the probability of error of a binary intensity-modulated direct-detection optical communication system consisting of an ideal photodetector followed by a nonideal photoelectron counter, in this case an RC low-pass filter. Calculation of probability of error requires the determination of the output statistics of the nonideal

Photoelectron spectrum of PrO−
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2015The photoelectron (PE) spectrum of PrO− exhibits a short 835 ± 20 cm−1 vibrational progression of doublets (210 ± 30 cm−1 splitting) assigned to transitions from the 4f2 [3H4] σ6s2 Ω = 4 anion ground state to the 4f2 [3H4] σ6s Ω = 3.5 and 4.5 neutral states.

The 9.24 eV ionization energy often quoted in photoelectron spectroscopic investigations of benzyne is not due to benzyne 1 but to benzene, C6H6. The 8.9 eV ionization is not due to benzyne either but to cyclopentadienylideneketene 12 when a 10.2 eV band is also present, or to biphenylene 5 when a 7.6 eV band is simultaneously present ...

Vibronic structure and photoelectron angular distribution in the photoelectron spectrum of ICN
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2018The valence shell photoelectron spectrum of ICN has been simulated using the equation-of-motion coupled-cluster method to calculate the ionization energies and the norms of the Dyson orbitals to describe the intensity of the photoelectron bands. The simulated spectrum not only reproduces the position and intensity of the four main bands observed in the

Photodouble ionization of water studied by photoelectron–photoelectron coincidence experiments
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 2019Abstract The photodouble ionization of the water molecule has been studied at about 20 eV excess energy by detecting in coincidence two photoelectrons of equal energy. Two types of measurements have been performed. In the first one the photon energy has been scanned in order to reconstruct the spectrum of the H

The Longitudinal Distribution of Photoelectrons

A Discussion on photoelectron spectroscopy - Molecular photoelectron spectroscopy
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1970Abstract The principal features of helium 584 A photoelectron spectra of molecular vapours are outlined. Factors affecting the number of bands observed and their relation to the number of occupied electronic energy levels are discussed.
