Bidirectional electron conic observations for photoelectrons in the Martian ionosphere

open access: yesEarth and Planetary Physics, 2020
Electron pitch angle distributions similar to bidirectional electron conics (BECs) have been reported at Mars in previous studies based on analyses of Mars Global Surveyor measurements.

Temporal and spectral variations of the photoelectron flux and solar irradiance during an X class solar flare

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2008
Photoelectrons are the main energy source of airglow used to diagnose the state of the ionosphere‐thermosphere system. Because of measurement uncertainties and substantial gaps in the historical record, parameterized models of the EUV irradiance and ...

Targeting and Photodynamic Killing of Cancer Cell by Nitrogen-Doped Titanium Dioxide Coupled with Folic Acid

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2016
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) has attracted wide attention as a potential photosensitizer (PS) in photodynamic therapy (PDT). However, bare TiO2 can only be excited by ultraviolet illumination, and it lacks specific targeting ligands, which largely impede its ...

Manipulation of Si Doping Concentration for Modification of the Electric Field and Carrier Injection for AlGaN-Based Deep-Ultraviolet Light-Emitting Diodes

open access: yesCrystals, 2018
Electron overflow is one of the key factors that limit the quantum efficiency for AlGaN-based deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes. In this work, we report a numerical study to improve the electron injection efficiency by manipulating the electric ...

Application of SNAP-Tag in Expansion Super-Resolution Microscopy Using DNA Oligostrands

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2021
Expansion super-resolution technology is a new technology developed in recent years. It anchors the dye on the hydrogel and the dye expands with the expansion of the hydrogel so that a super-resolution map can be obtained under an ordinary microscope ...

Study of the Photodynamic Activity of N-Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles Conjugated with Aluminum Phthalocyanine

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2017
TiO2 nanoparticles modified with phthalocyanines (Pc) have been proven to be a potential photosensitizer in the application of photodynamic therapy (PDT). However, the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by TiO2 nanoparticles modified with Pc has

Photoelectron spectra of metallocenes

open access: yesJournal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 1980
Abstract The He(II) spectra of the unsubstituted metallocenes {M(η-C5H5)2}, M  V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Ru, and of {Mn(η-C5H4Me)2} are reported; both He(I) and He(II) spectra of some decamethylmetallocenes {M(η-C5Me5)2}, where M  Mg, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co and Ni, are also given.

On the Impact of Electron Leakage on the Efficiency Droop for AlGaN Based Deep Ultraviolet Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
In this work, we have investigated the origin of efficiency droop for AlGaN-based deep ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (DUV LEDs). We find that the efficiency droop is likely to be caused by the electron leakage for DUV LEDs studied in this work.

Innovative Processing of Compacted Waste Aluminum Alloy Powders via Controlled Remelting and Solidification

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...
