Photografting Modification of PET Nucleopore Membranes

Journal of Macromolecular Science - Pure and Applied Chemistry, 2003
PET nucleopore membranes were modified by photografting polymerization. The grafted membrane has a well-defined structure. Grafting polymerization is confined on the membrane surface; no graft occurs inside membrane pores. The grafted PAA was characterized with ESCA, and the morphology of grafted membranes was observed by SEM.

Surface photografting of polymer fibers, films and sheets

Nuclear Instruments & Methods in Physics Research B, 1999
Abstract In our recent work on surface photografting, we have studied the molecular mechanism of the grafting reaction and found that the far UV irradiation at 250 nm is the main activation wavelength for the benzophenone to singlet state (S2 about 110 kcal/mol). When the BPS2 is transformed to BPS1 and the triplet states T1 and T2 (about 70 kcal/mol)

Polymer surface modification by photografting of functional nitroxides

European Polymer Journal, 2017
The UV-initiated photografting of X-TEMPO onto the surface of ethylene/a-olefin copolymer (EOC) and of styrene-b-(ethylene-co-butene)-b-styrene (SEBS) block copolymer films is here described. In particular, 4-benzoyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (BzOTEMPO), 4-(1-naphthoate)-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (NfO-TEMPO) and 4-(4,4, 5,5,6,6,

Photografting of polymer monoliths by a crosslinking monomer

Journal of Chromatography A, 2020
The surface of fifteen polymethacrylate monolithic stationary phases has been modified by a post-polymerization UV-initiated grafting reaction with bifunctional poly(ethylene glycol)dimethacrylate monomers. An effect of crosslinking monomer length, its concentration in the modification mixture, and a time of the modification reaction have been selected

Blood compatibility of photografted hydrogel coatings

Acta Biomaterialia, 2010
In this work, we have evaluated the haemocompatibility of different surface modifications, intended for biomaterials and bioanalytical applications. Polystyrene slides were coated with thin hydrogel films by self-initiated photografting and photopolymerization (SIPGP) of four different monomers.

Photografting of Albumin onto Dimethyldichlorosilane-Coated Glass

Journal of Biomaterials Applications, 1993
4-Azido-2-nitrophenyl albumin (ANP-albumin) was prepared by displacing the fluoro group of 4-fluoro-3-nitrophenyl azide (FNPA) by an amino group of albumin. Photolysis of phenyl azides of ANP-albumin was studied by Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.

Aliphatic Ketones as Photoinitiators for Photografting

Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2004
AbstractSummary: The photografting of methacrylic acid (MAA) onto high‐density polyethylene (HDPE) initiated by butanone, pentan‐3‐one, and heptan‐3‐one is presented. These aliphatic ketones can act as photoinitiators for photografting when they are a component of a suitable solvent mixture with water and ethanol.

Fabrication of a polypropylene immunoassay platform by photografting reaction

Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2019
The technology of an immunoassay detection platform is critical to clinical disease diagnoses, especially for developing a medical diagnostic system. A polymer-based immunoassay platform was fabricated on nonwoven fabric polypropylene (PP) using a photografting reaction to graft 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and sulfobetaine (SBMA).
