Photoionization Impact on the Lightning Impulse Streamer Discharge of Rapeseed Insulating Oil: An Experimental Study

open access: yesEnergies
Photoionization is a significant factor influencing the morphology and propagation characteristics of streamers in insulating oil, yet research on the impact of photoionization on streamer branching is almost nonexistent.

On Phase and Amplitude Extraction in Bichromatic Ionization: A Proposal

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
In the paper we propose a method for characterizing VUV pulse(s) in a bichromatic ionization setup. The scheme is based on s-shell ionization by joint action of circularly polarized fundamental harmonic and linearly polarized second one. The advantage of

Spectral self-action of THz emission from ionizing two-color laser pulses in gases

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
The spectrum of terahertz (THz) emission in gases via ionizing two-color femtosecond pulses is analyzed by means of a semi-analytic model and numerical simulations in 1D, 2D and 3D geometries taking into account propagation effects of both pump and THz ...

Mass Spectrometric Investigation of the Influence of Water Vapour and Oxygen on Gas‐Phase Reactions of Aluminium Acetylacetonate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The gas‐phase decomposition of Al(acac)3 is investigated under inert, oxygen, and water‐containing conditions. Water is found to promote selective ligand removal and suppress hydrocarbon formation, while oxygen induces faster, less selective decomposition pathways.

Light effect in photoionization of traps in GaN MESFETs [PDF]

open access: yesPapers in Physics, 2009
Trapping of hot electron behavior by trap centers located in buffer layer of a wurtzite phase GaN MESFET has been simulated using an ensemble Monte Carlo simulation.

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

Decoherence in Attosecond Photoionization

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2011
The creation of superpositions of hole states via single-photon ionization using attosecond extreme-ultraviolet pulses is studied with the time-dependent configuration interaction singles (TDCIS) method. Specifically, the degree of coherence between hole states in atomic xenon is investigated.

On Photoeffect in the Few-Electron Atomic Systems

open access: yesAtoms, 2022
Closed analytical formulas are derived for the differential and total cross sections of the non-relativistic photoelectric effect in the three main classes of few-electron atomic systems: (a) neutral atoms and positively charged atomic ions which contain

Benchmarking Coaxial and Angular Optical Emission Spectroscopy With Recommendations for Reliable Compositional In Situ Monitoring During Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Real‐time insight into local chemistry is critical for reliable part quality in additive manufacturing, especially laser powder bed fusion (PBF‑LB/M), where rapid thermal cycles and localized evaporation can undermine part performance. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) offers non‑intrusive, in situ plume monitoring, but detection geometry ...

Electron asymmetries in the photoionization of chiral molecules: possible astrophysical implications

open access: yesAdvances in Physics: X, 2018
Photoelectron circular dichroism (PECD) is an intense orbital-specific chiroptical effect observed as asymmetries in the angular distribution of photoelectrons produced by photoionization of randomly oriented pure enantiomers with circularly polarized ...
