Photoluminescence of Eu2+ doped ZnS nanocrystals

open access: yes, 2000
Eu2+ doped ZnS nanocrystals exhibit new luminescence properties because of the enlarged energy gap of nanocrystalline ZnS host due to quantum confinement effects.

Integrating Vibrio natriegens for Photon Manipulation in Living Lighting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rationalization of genetic and material engineering tools has enabled the engineering of fluorescent Vibrio natriegens (V. natriegens) to fabricate straightforward, highly emissive and stable V. natriegens‐silicones color filters for the first red‐emitting bacteria‐hybrid light‐emitting diodes. This pinpoints V. natriegens as a high‐performance protein

Picosecond Time-Resolved Photoluminescence of Zinc Oxide Single Crystals, Films and Nanoparticles

open access: yes, 2003
Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a refractory semiconductor material whose band gap is both wide (3.39 eV) and direct. It is under consideration as a promising material for blue/uv semiconducting light emitting diodes (LEDs) and lasers.

Phase evolution and photoluminescence enhancement of CePO4 nanowires from a low phosphate concentration system

open access: yes, 2013
Uniform CePO4 nanowires have been successfully synthesized in a low phosphate concentration system through a single-step hydrothermal process. The low phosphate concentration might decrease the surface PO43- adsorption of the as-synthesized CePO4 ...

Energetic Offset in Organic Solar Cells‐ Importance, Confusion and Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Energetic offsets in organic solar cells (OSCs) remain a subject of debate due to measurement‐ and lab‐dependent discrepancies. This Perspective clarifies the physical origins of these variations and identifies temperature‐dependent electro‐optical methods as a reliable approach to obtain consistent offset values.

High Charge Carrier Mobility in Non‐Conjugated 3D Covalent Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A non‐conjugated 3D COF constructed via boronate ester linkages from tetraphenylene and pyrene‐based monomers is reported, which exhibits a high charge carrier mobility of 14 ± 1 cm2 V−1 s−1. ABSTRACT π‐Conjugation, π–π stacking, and long‐range order play a central role in determining charge transport efficiency in organic materials.

PROCESS OF PHOTOLUMINESCENCE AND PHOTOSTIMULATED LUMINESCENCE IN BAFBR-EU PHOSPHORS

open access: yes, 1995
The photoluminescence (PL) and photostimulated luminescence (PSL) of BaFBr: Eu phosphors are reported. In the photoluminescence of BaFBr:Eu, the emission of Eu2+, e-h recombination and Eu3+ have been observed, while in the photostimulated luminescence ...
