Photolysis of Caged-GABA Rapidly Terminates Seizures In Vivo: Concentration and Light Intensity Dependence

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2017
The therapy of focal epilepsy remains unsatisfactory for as many as 25% of patients. The photolysis of caged-γ-aminobutyric acid (caged-GABA) represents a novel and alternative option for the treatment of intractable epilepsy.

Photolysis of hexachlorocyclopentadiene in water

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 1982
Abstract 14 C-Hexachlorocyclopentadiene (hex) (C 5 Cl 6 ) was photolyzed rapidly when dissolved in water and irradiated with a mercury-vapor light source. The photolytic half-life of hex was less than 1.03 min. Pentachlorocyclopentenone was tentatively identified as the primary photolysis product of hex.

Kinetics of the photolysis of benzenetricarbonylchromium(0) in chloroform [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
In contrast to the photolysis of Cr(CO)3(C6H6) in nonhalogenated solvents, in which the products are CrL(CO)2(C6H6) in the presence of a donor L, or Cr(CO)6 and C6H6 if no donor is present, the photo-reaction in chloroform yields CrCl3.

The Effects of Reactant Concentration and Air Flow Rate in the Consumption of Dissolved O2 during the Photochemistry of Aqueous Pyruvic Acid

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
The sunlight photochemistry of the organic chromophore pyruvic acid (PA) in water generates ketyl and acetyl radicals that contribute to the production and processing of atmospheric aerosols.

Photolysis Kinetics, Mechanisms, and Pathways of Tetrabromobisphenol A in Water under Simulated Solar Light Irradiation.

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology, 2015
The photolysis of tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) in aqueous solution under simulated solar light irradiation was studied under different conditions to find out mechanisms and pathways that control the transformation of TBBPA during photoreaction ...

Excited‐State Basicity Diverts the Site‐Selectivity of Aromatic Deuteration: Application to the Late‐Stage Labeling of Pharmaceuticals

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
We present a metal‐free method for aromatic deuterium labeling via photoexcitation in deuterated HFIP. This approach leverages the enhanced basicity of excited‐state aromatics to achieve selective hydrogen isotope exchange at challenging positions. Demonstrated on complex drug molecules, this efficient strategy provides a valuable tool for isotope ...

A Photocatalytic Method for the Degradation of Pyrrolidine in Water [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2000
A method for the degradation of pyrrolidine in water is described. The method relaies on the photocatalytic degradation of pyrrolidine to CO2 and NH3 by UV irradiation and using titanium dixide semiconductor as a photocatalyst.

Destino ambiental dos herbicidas do grupo das imidazolinonas: revisão Environmental fate of imidazolinone herbicides: a review

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2009
Os herbicidas do grupo das imidazolinonas controlam um amplo espectro de plantas daninhas, sendo absorvidos pelas raízes e folhas e translocados pelo floema e xilema, acumulando-se nos pontos de crescimento.
