Forelimb Motor Learning and Memory Consolidation Drives Distinct Oligodendrocyte Plasticity to Regulate Task‐related Neuronal Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genetic and chemical tracking of oligodendrogenesis, combining fiber photometric neuronal activity recording, reveals that distinct oligodendrocyte plasticities are adopted during different phases of motor learning to fine‐tune task‐related neuronal activity, with a preferential involvement of oligodendrogenesis suppression and node lengthening (type 2

Star clusters in M33: updated UBVRI photometry, ages, metallicities, and masses

open access: yes, 2014
The photometric characterization of M33 star clusters is far from complete. In this paper, we present homogeneous $UBVRI$ photometry of 708 star clusters and cluster candidates in M33 based on archival images from the Local Group Galaxies Survey, which ...

PROPER IMAGE SUBTRACTION—OPTIMAL TRANSIENT DETECTION, PHOTOMETRY, AND HYPOTHESIS TESTING [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Transient detection and flux measurement via image subtraction stand at the base of time domain astronomy. Due to the varying seeing conditions, the image subtraction process is non-trivial, and existing solutions suffer from a variety of problems ...

Estrogen Alleviates Sevoflurane‐Induced Neurotoxicity by Inhibiting ERα‐Tau Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sevoflurane‐induced neurotoxicity exhibits sex differences, and estrogen can mitigate these effects; however, its protective action appears to be time‐window dependent, which may be related to the competitive binding of estrogen and Tau to ERα. Abstract Sevoflurane‐induced neurotoxicity is age‐dependent, but the role of sex differences is unclear ...

Photography by Cameras Integrated in Smartphones as a Tool for Analytical Chemistry Represented by an Butyrylcholinesterase Activity Assay

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Smartphones are popular devices frequently equipped with sensitive sensors and great computational ability. Despite the widespread availability of smartphones, practical uses in analytical chemistry are limited, though some papers have proposed promising

Merging galaxies in isolated environments I. Multiband photometry, classification, stellar masses, and star formation rates

open access: yes, 2019
Extragalactic surveys provide significant statistical data for the study of crucial galaxy parameters used to constrain galaxy evolution, e.g. stellar mass (M$_*$) and star formation rate (SFR), under different environmental conditions.

A Technique for Extracting Highly Precise Photometry for the Two-Wheeled Kepler Mission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The original Kepler mission achieved high photometric precision thanks to ultrastable pointing enabled by use of four reaction wheels. The loss of two of these reaction wheels reduced the telescope’s ability to point precisely for extended periods of ...

cGAS Inhibits ALDH2 to Suppress Lipid Droplet Function and Regulate MASLD Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
cGAS is a cytosolic DNA sensor known for innate immune defense. cGAS binds and suppresses ALDH2 are showed, limiting acetyl‐CoA production. cGAS loss activates ALDH2, promoting histone acetylation, lipogenesis, and lipid droplets accumulation. cGas‐/‐ mice on a high‐fat diet show signs of worsened MASLD.

THE RESEARCH OF VARIATION OF THE PERIOD AND PRECESSION OF THE ROTATION AXIS OF EGS (AJISAI) SATELLITE BY USING PHOTOMETRIC MEASUREMENT

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2014
The light curves of EGS Ajisai with temporal resolution of 20 ms referred to the time scale UTC (GPS) with an error of at most 0.1 ms were obtained. The observed flashes are produced when the mirrors which cover the spinning satellite’s surface reflect ...

The New Eclipsing Cataclysmic Variable SDSS 154453+2553

open access: yes, 2011
The cataclysmic variable SDSS154453+2553 was recently identified in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. We obtained spectra and photometry at the MDM Observatory, which revealed an eclipse with a 6.03 hour period.
