Acute restraint stress enhances STAT3Ser727 phosphorylation in dopaminergic neurons in mice. This modification promotes the upregulation of GABBR2 and GABRB3, reduces neuronal activity, and contributes to anxiety‐like behavior and diminished reward‐seeking following stress exposure.

We present optical photometry of the galactic bulge low-mass X-ray binary GX 349+2 (Sco X-2) obtained in July 1993 and March 1996. Short-term variations up to one magnitude are present on time scales of a few hours, which are related to the known X-ray behaviour of the source.

Optical and infrared surface photometry of NGC 3077
Photoelectric U, B, and V, photovoltaic K, and four-filter CCD surface photometry of the small, M81-linked Irr II galaxy NGC 3077 are reported. The observations are compared with data from previous studies, and the mass, density, and optical depth ratios are determined for a prominent dust cloud near the center of the galaxy.

Detection of the Sgr A* activity at 3.8 and 4.8 microns with NACO
L'-band (lambda=3.8 microns) and M'-band (lambda=4.8 microns) observations of the Galactic Center region, performed in 2003 at VLT (ESO) with the adaptive optics imager NACO, have lead to the detection of an infrared counterpart of the radio source Sgr A*

This study demonstrates that prolonged rhythmic 40 Hz light flicker enhances spatial learning by stimulating PV interneuron‐dependent neurogenesis. The light flicker selectively activates PV interneurons, which enhances GABAergic support for the integration of immature neurons in the adult dentate gyrus.

We report a supernova discovery in Ks-band images from the NAOS CONICA adaptive optics (AO) system on the ESO Very Large Telescope (VLT). The images were obtained as part of a near-infrared search for highly-obscured supernovae in the nuclear regions of ...

ABSTRACT In this work, bench‐top and portable near‐infrared (NIR) spectroscopy equipment are compared in the context of generating predictive models for the quantification of phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and nitrogen (N) components from corn silage samples.

Optical Photometry and the Continuum of Active Galactic Nuclei
In this paper, the continuum emission of active galactic nuclei is studied using broadband B, V, R, and I photometry. The nuclear contribution is estimated from the observations using two different approaches. In the first one, the images are deconvolved by the seeing profile and the corrected images are used to derive the nuclear contribution.
