Imaging thermal objects with photon-counting detectors

Applied Optics, 1992
A photon-counting camera is used to generate images of thermal (blackbody) objects. Analytical estimates of the count rates that can be obtained for thermal objects in the 300-800-K temperature range are given for several different photocathode materials.

Photon-Counting Detector Systems

1988
Photon-counting detector systems for use with instrumentation on ground-based telescopes are currently in a stage of rapid development, primarily because of the need for high-sensitivity detectors for use in space astrophysics instruments and for civilian and military night-vision applications.

Neuro applications of photon-counting detector CT

British Journal of Radiology
Abstract Photon-counting detector CT, a recent advance in CT technology, has several advantages over conventional energy-integrating detector CT. These include increased spatial resolution, reduced image noise, increased soft-tissue and iodine contrast, lower radiation dose, and inherent spectral imaging.
