Gluing Lidar Signals Detected in Analog-to-Digital and Photon Counting Modes

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
Lidar is one of the most effective tools for atmospheric remote sensing. For a ground-based lidar system, the backscattered light usually has large dynamic range.

Nondestructive photon counting in waveguide QED

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Number-resolving single-photon detectors represent a key technology for a host of quantum optics protocols, but despite significant efforts, state-of-the-art devices are limited to few photons.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Superconducting nanowire photon number resolving detector at telecom wavelength

open access: yes, 2007
The optical-to-electrical conversion, which is the basis of optical detectors, can be linear or nonlinear. When high sensitivities are needed single-photon detectors (SPDs) are used, which operate in a strongly nonlinear mode, their response being ...

Non-deterministic Gates for Photonic Single Rail Quantum Logic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We discuss techniques for producing, manipulating and measureing qubits encoded optically as vacuum and single photon states. We show that a universal set of non-deterministic gates can be constructed using linear optics and photon counting.

Variably Protease‐Sensitive Prionopathy: Two New Cases With Motor Neuron‐Dementia Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe two patients with variably protease‐sensitive prionopathy (VPSPr) who developed progressive upper motor neuron symptoms, insomnia, behavioral and cognitive decline, compatible with primary lateral sclerosis associated with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

True random coded photon counting Lidar

open access: yesOpto-Electronic Advances, 2020
A true random coded photon counting Lidar system is proposed in this paper, in which a single photon detector acts as the true random sequence signal generator instead of the traditional function generator.

CSF Monoamine Metabolites and Cognitive Trajectory in Early Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Imaging and postmortem studies indicate that abnormalities in monoaminergic neurotransmission contribute to cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, it remains uncertain if cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) monoamine metabolites can serve as biomarkers of cognitive decline in early PD.

KNN Based Denoising Algorithm for Photon-Counting LiDAR: Numerical Simulation and Parameter Optimization Design

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Photon-counting LiDAR can obtain long-distance, high-precision target3D geographic information, but extracting high-precision signal photons from background noise photons is the key premise of photon-counting LiDAR data processing and application.

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.
