Exploring the photoproduction of $$\rho $$ ρ and $$\phi $$ ϕ in hadronic heavy-ion collisions

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
Significant enhancements of J/ $$\psi $$ ψ production have been observed by various experiments at RHIC and LHC for very low transverse momenta in peripheral heavy-ion collisions, which has ignited a surge of investigations into photon-induced processes ...

Pion pair production in photon-photon collisions at DCI

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1987
Abstract This paper presents experimental results on π + π − production threshold from the collision of quasi-real photons. The data, obtained at the e + e − collider DCI, are a combination of the results from the DM1 and DM2 experiments. Using the e + e − and π + π − production for normalization and cross-checks, we observe a pion pair yield at ...

All‐Solution‐Processed HgTe Quantum Dot Photodetectors for Extended Short‐Wavelength Infrared Range Enhanced by Plasmonic ITO Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
All‐solution‐processed, low‐cost extended short‐wavelength infrared photodetectors are realized by coupling colloidal HgTe quantum dots to plasmonic In2O3:Sn,F nanocrystals. Localized surface plasmon resonances boost and spectrally tailor light absorption between 1500 and 3000 nm, enabling responsivities above 40 A W−1.

Velocity‐Tunable Exciton‐Photon Hybridization in Cathodoluminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transition‐radiation resonances in suspended thin crystals hybridise with excitonic transitions under free‐electron excitation. By tuning the electron energy, the photonic resonances are continuously detuned across the exciton states, enabling controllable exciton–photon hybridisation below the diffraction limit without altering the system geometry ...

An estimate for the thermal photon rate from lattice QCD

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
We estimate the production rate of photons by the quark-gluon plasma in lattice QCD. We propose a new correlation function which provides better control over the systematic uncertainty in estimating the photon production rate at photon momenta in the ...

Light dark photon dark matter from inflation

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We discuss the possibility of producing a light dark photon dark matter through a coupling between the dark photon field and the inflaton. The dark photon with a large wavelength is efficiently produced due to the inflaton motion during inflation and ...

Spatially‐Resolved Coherence of Organic Molecular Spins at Room‐Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular spin qubits are emerging as a promising quantum sensing technology. This paper studies the variation in coherence and sensitivity in both crystalline and thin‐film samples by combining microscopy and room temperature optically detected coherent control.

Synthesis of AgBiS2 and AgInS2 Based on Formation Energies in Sulfur‐Rich Reducing Flame

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐surface‐area AgInS2 and AgBiS2 nanoparticles were synthesized via enclosed flame spray pyrolysis by tuning flame conditions and formation energies to guide phase formation. Flame parameters were tuned to suppress oxides and enable pure sulfide phase growth.

Spectrally Selective Bipolar Self‐Powered Opto‐Synaptic Responses in Tandem 2D van Der Waals Ferroelectric Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tandem 2D vdW ferroelectric heterojunctions enable spectrally selective, self‐powered bipolar opto‐synaptic responses for retinal ON/OFF bipolar cell emulation and wavelength‐programmable logic operations. This work establishes vdW ferroelectric heterojunctions as a compelling materials platform for energy‐efficient, adaptive, and human‐like artificial
