Transverse Magneto-Optic Error of a Miniature Solid-Core Photonic-Crystal Fiber Optic Gyroscope
The transverse magneto-optic error is a significant nonreciprocal error of fiber optic gyroscopes, particularly for the miniature fiber optic gyroscope.

Dynamics simulation of photonic crystal fiber end face polishing
The high quality of polished end face of photonic crystal fiber has a significant effect on coupling efficiency when photonic crystal fiber is used to couple with other optical devices. In order to obtain the smooth surface of the photonic crystal fiber,

Transmittance of tapered photonic crystal fibers with absorbing coatings [PDF]
The interaction of the adiabatically tapered photonic crystal fiber fundamental mode with a thin-film absorbing coating, deposited on a surface of a taper waist, on transmission of a tapered fiber is studied.

Fiber fuse in chalcogenide photonic crystal fibers [PDF]
We observe fiber fuse in tapered GeAsSe photonic crystal fibers (PCF) at around 7 MW/cm2 of intra-core intensity. Vertically cleaved facets from the un-tapered regions and the tapered regions were imaged. The images show shallow voids of different shapes confined to the fiber core. After longitudinally polishing a segment of the PCF, we imaged the PCF

Multimaterial photonic crystal fibers [PDF]
One of the main advantages of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) is their ability to host novel functional materials in the airholes of the cladding. Here, we demonstrate a unique post-processing method which allows the integration of materials with significantly different thermo-mechanical properties inside the voids of silica PCF.
