Copper‐based Materials for Photo and Electrocatalytic Process: Advancing Renewable Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cu‐based catalysts as a cornerstone in advancing sustainable energy technologies are fully reviewed in this manuscript, highlighting their potential in photo‐ and electrocatalysis. It includes metallic copper, copper oxides, copper sulfides, copper halide perovskites, copper‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs),

Self-trapping of light and nonlinear localized modes in 2D photonic crystals and waveguides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We overview our recent results on the nonlinear localized modes in two-dimensional (2D) photonic crystals and photonic-crystal waveguides. Employing the technique based on the Green function, we describe the existence domains for nonlinear guided modes ...

Simple model of the density of states in 1D photonic crystal

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we present a simple, yet versatile, analytical model of one-dimensional photonic crystal (1D PC). In our theoretical model, we take into account direction of propagation and therefore do not neglect anisotropic nature of photonic crystals.

Kinetic Insights into Precursor‐Assisted Soft Sphere Close Packing Revealed by In Situ GISAXS with Implications for Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

MODELING OF MULTILAYER ULTRATHIN-FILM PHOTONIC CRYSTALS FOR SELECTIVE FILTERS

open access: yesDoklady Belorusskogo gosudarstvennogo universiteta informatiki i radioèlektroniki, 2019
The aim of the work was to study the optical properties of the one-dimensional photonic crystals from ultrathin alternating layers of titanium and silicon oxides with different order of alternating layers to form defective half-wave layers in the bulk of

Surface-mode microcavity

open access: yes, 2005
Optical microcavities based on zero-group-velocity surface modes in photonic crystal slabs are studied. It is shown that high quality factors can be easily obtained for such microcavities in photonic crystal slabs.

Oxidation of AlInAs for current blocking in a photonic crystal laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
To make an electrically pumped photonic crystal membrane laser is a challenging task. One of the problems is how to avoid short circuiting between the p- and n-doped parts of the laser diode, when the membrane thickness is limited to 200-300nm.

Bimetallic Nanoparticles as Cocatalysts for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Recent developments have introduced bimetallic nanoparticles as effective cocatalysts for photocatalytic systems. This review explores the rapidly expanding research on bimetallic cocatalysts for photocatalytic production of hydrogen, emphasizing the creation of carrier‐selective contacts, localized surface plasmon resonance effects, methodologies for ...

Exotic radiation from a photonic crystal excited by an ultra-relativistic electron beam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We report the observation of an exotic radiation (unconventional Smith-Purcell radiation) from a one-dimensional photonic crystal. The physical origin of the exotic radiation is direct excitation of the photonic bands by an ultra-relativistic electron ...

Low‐Symmetry Weyl Semimetals: A Path to Ideal Topological States

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a theoretical framework for realizing ideal Weyl semimetals, where Weyl nodes are well‐isolated at the Fermi level. The approach is exemplified in the low‐symmetry material Cu2SnSe3, which exhibits tunable topological phases, current‐induced orbital magnetization, and a strong circular photogalvanic effect, making it a promising ...
