Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.

Darboux Transformation for the 3-Dimension Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
The transient nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE) is solved with the Darboux transformation. Based on this solution, the longitude and transverse field evolution is presented; the time-varying coefficients (dispersion and nonlinear parameters) of NLSE ...

Chromatic dispersion of liquid crystal infiltrated capillary tubes and photonic crystal fibers

open access: yes, 2006
We consider chromatic dispersion of capillary tubes and photonic crystal fibers infiltrated with liquid crystals. A perturbative scheme for inclusion of material dispersion of both liquid crystal and the surrounding waveguide material is derived.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Transverse Magneto-Optic Error of a Miniature Solid-Core Photonic-Crystal Fiber Optic Gyroscope

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The transverse magneto-optic error is a significant nonreciprocal error of fiber optic gyroscopes, particularly for the miniature fiber optic gyroscope.

Spatiotemporal Plasma–Mediated Laser Fabrication of Ultrahigh‐Aspect‐Ratio Nanochannel Arrays for Vertical Perovskite Nanowire Semiconductor Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spatiotemporal plasma–mediated laser processing approach is developed to fabricate ultrahigh–aspect ratio nanochannel arrays and corresponding perovskite nanowire arrays within transparent materials for optoelectronics devices. The laser‐fabricated nanochannels serve as templates for controlled perovskite infiltration and crystallization, enabling ...

Ultraviolet-Extended Supercontinuum Generation in Zero-Dispersion Wavelength Decreasing Photonic Crystal Fibers

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
Supercontinuum covering the ultraviolet-blue region is highly useful for fluorescence microscopy. Four zero-dispersion wavelength decreasing photonic crystal fibers with different fiber cross structures and taper profiles are fabricated to extend the ...

Numerical modeling of photonic crystal fibers using the finite element method

open access: yes, 2016
Propagation constants and amplitudes of eigenwaves of photonic crystal fibers are calculated numerically using an algorithm based on combination of the exact nonlocal boundary conditions method and the finite-element method.

Analytical mode normalization and resonant state expansion for optical fibers - an efficient tool to model transverse disorder

open access: yes, 2018
We adapt the resonant state expansion to optical fibers such as capillary and photonic crystal fibers. As a key requirement of the resonant state expansion and any related perturbative approach, we derive the correct analytical normalization for all ...
