Hybrid Quantum Photonic Integrated Circuits

2021 Photonics North (PN), 2021
Quantum dots embedded in photonic nanowires are a promising route for generating single photons with high efficiency [1]. Integration of such sources on-chip offers enhanced stability and miniaturization, important in many applications involving the processing of quantum information. Here we demonstrate the efficient coupling of quantum light generated

Statistical Computing in Photonic Integrated Circuits

2018 Photonics in Switching and Computing (PSC), 2018
Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) have dramatically improved performance for many machine learning tasks. We demonstrate new architectures based on Photonic Integrated Circuits for carrying out ANN and other statistical processing tasks. I will discuss how it can enable orders of magnitude enhancement in computational speed, latency and power efficiency

Photonic Integrated Circuits for microwave photonics

2010 IEEE International Topical Meeting on Microwave Photonics, 2010
InP-based Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) have found applications in the telecommunication and sensing arena because they have offered improvements in cost and function as well as size, weight and power. For microwave photonics applications, it has been found that some analog functions such as optical-phase locked loops (OPLLs) can be greatly ...

Photonic Integrated Circuits for Space Communications

Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2024
We present a hybrid integrated microwave photonic (iMWP) chip platform where Si3N4-based-TriPleX and InP optical waveguides are combined to enable broadband and high frequency radio signal processing. An iMWP beamformer for phased array antenna systems will be presented.

InP Photonic Integrated Circuits on Silicon

2018
IMOS (InP membrane on silicon) is a platform-based approach to create indium phosphide (InP) nanophotonic integrated circuits. It uses monolithic integration of all photonic functions in the InP layers to leverage the most efficient optoelectronic processes and to remove optical interfaces between separately grown wafers.
