Polarization‐Dependent Synaptic‐Like Electro‐Optical Response in Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nematic liquid crystals (FNLCs) offer fast, tunable polarization and low‐voltage operation but suffer from poor polarization retention at zero field. Semiconductor‐modified FNLCs enhance polarization retention and exhibit short‐ and long‐term electro‐optical responses, while also supporting spike‐type signal integrations.

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Microring Resonator-based Photonic Reservoir Computing [PDF]

open access: yes2024 24th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON)
Reservoir computing is a recurrent computing architecture particularly suited for implementation on photonic hardware, especially in its time-delay (time-multiplexed) implementation. Here, we review our effort in timedelay reservoir computing based on a single nonlinear node consisting of a silicon microring resonator. We focus on relating the physical

Charge‐Encoded Sidechains Enable Deterministic Ion Ingress and Memory Retention in Organic Electrochemical Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic electrochemical synaptic transistors based on sidechain‐engineered conjugated polyelectrolytes reveal that cationic sidechains enable efficient volumetric ion penetration and dense backbone doping, leading to enhanced transconductance and long‐term synaptic retention.
