Photons above 700 nm have minimal photosynthetic activity when applied alone (Emerson and Lewis, 1943; McCree, 1971) and have thus been excluded from the definition of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR; 400 to 700 nm).

Photon-photon interaction in a photon gas [PDF]
Using the effective Lagrangian for the low energy photon-photon interaction the lowest order photon self energy at finite temperature and in non-equilibrium is calculated within the real time formalism. The Debye mass, the dispersion relation, the dielectric tensor, and the velocity of light following from the photon self energy are discussed.

Learning cellular morphology with neural networks
Volume electron microscopy data of brain tissue can tell us much about neural circuits, but increasingly large data sets demand automation of analysis. Here, the authors introduce cellular morphology neural networks and successfully automate a range of ...

18-Qubit Entanglement with Six Photons' Three Degrees of Freedom. [PDF]
Full control of multiple degrees of freedom of multiple particles represents a fundamental ability for quantum information processing. We experimentally demonstrate an 18-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger entanglement by simultaneous exploiting three ...

PHOTON-PHOTON INTERACTIONS [PDF]
Abstract A brief summary of the present status of photon-photon interactions is presented. Stress is placed on the use of two-photon collisions to test present ideas on the quark constituents of hadrons and on the theory of strong interactions.
