Systematic review and meta‐analysis of diagnostic test accuracy in chronic wound's microbiology

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 21, Issue 9, September 2024.
Abstract Purpose This study aims to assess the diagnostic accuracy of non‐culture‐based methodologies for detecting microorganisms in chronic wounds. Methods We systematically reviewed studies that evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of alternative tests in chronic wound samples, excluding studies focused on animal samples or unrelated conditions.

Dust photophoretic transport around a T Tauri star: Implications for comets composition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
There is a growing body of evidences for the presence of crystalline material in comets. These crystals are believed to have been annealed in the inner part of the proto-solar nebula, while comets should have been formed in the outer regions.

Ontogenetic shift or not? Different foraging trade‐offs within the meso‐ to bathypelagic fish community

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2024.
The community of deep‐water pelagic fishes in the Bay of Biscay has shown a great diversity of ontogenetic change strategies. Some species have undergone changes in both habitat use (use of the water column) and food sources (changes in δ15N values), while others have undergone only one of these changes.

LUMINESCENCE CONTROL INPORICHTHYS(TELEOSTEI): EXCITATION OF ISOLATED PHOTOPHORES

open access: yesThe Biological Bulletin, 1971
Luminescene of isolated photophores of midshipman fish, Porichthys myriaster and P. notatus, was studied as a function of electrical stimulus characteristics, temperature, oxygen concentration and pH. Single stimuli delivered into the photophore via microelectrode induced luminescence with a minimum latency of 100 msec.

Postharvest Light Irradiation Induces Anthocyanin Accumulation in Fresh‐Cut Lily Bulb (Lilium davidii var. unicolor) Scales

open access: yesJournal of Food Processing and Preservation, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
During the storage and processing time of the lily bulb, violet‐red discoloration of the scales often occurs, which is mainly caused by the biosynthesis of anthocyanin. To investigate the effect of light irradiation on the accumulation of anthocyanin in fresh‐cut lily bulb scales, here, we examined the effect of 12 days of light irradiation and shading
