Carvacrol Mitigates TNF‐α‐Driven Oxidative and Bioenergetic Impairment in L6 Rat Myoblasts

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 9, September 2026.
Carvacrol (6.25 µg/mL) attenuates TNF‐α‐induced bioenergetic toxicity in L6 rat myoblasts by reducing LDH release by 79%, quenching intracellular ROS, partially restoring mitochondrial membrane potential and ion‐dependent ATPase activities, recovering catalase and SOD function, and upregulating SIRT1 and AMPK mRNA—identifying carvacrol as a multi ...

Molecular logics in dual sensor regulation of diguanylate cyclase activity—Phosphorylation OR blue‐light activation

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Bacterial cells use multiple environmental cues to regulate levels of the second messenger cyclic dimeric GMP. This compound influences key lifestyle decisions such as motility, biofilm formation, or virulence. Although many diguanylate cyclases (DGCs) combined with various sensory domains have been studied previously, how distinct inputs are ...

Volatile Organic Compounds in Rainwater: A New Frontier in Atmosphere–Biosphere Interactions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 131, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Rainwater is a key vector of atmospheric deposition, linking the atmosphere with terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. While the inorganic chemistry of precipitation (dominated by sulfate, nitrate, ammonium, and trace metals) has been extensively studied, organic compounds in rainwater have received less attention, and Volatile Organic Compounds
