Hydrogels are three-dimensional water-swollen polymer networks that are commonly used in biomedical applications such as drug delivery and stem cell therapy due to their good biocompatibility. Because of lacking in stimuli-sensitive circuits, traditional hydrogels usually serve as passive scaffolds for molecular or cellular species.
