Bipolar Membranes With Controlled, Microscale 3D Junctions Enhance the Rates of Water Dissociation and Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 12, March 25, 2025.
This figure depicts the soft lithographic method for creating 3D bipolar membranes (BPMs) featuring microscale structures at the junctions. The height of these structures is comparable to the thickness of the optimized catalyst layer. The 3D BPMs show improved catalytic activity and higher current density compared to conventional 2D membranes ...

Scalable and Integrated Photocatalytic Reactor Systems for Solar‐to‐Fuel Production: Photoredox and Photoreforming Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solar fuels and other value‐added chemicals derived from light‐driven reactions are highly desirable. Although advanced photoactive materials have been reported, demonstrations of their feasibility in large‐scale production are needed. Hence, strategies and recent efforts in scaling up photocatalytic reactors and integrating them into comprehensive ...

Cd Single Atom as an Electron Mediator in an S‐Scheme Heterojunction for Artificial Photosynthesis of H2O2

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
To achieve precise coupling between two semiconductors with a charge shuttle and interfacial interaction modulation, a catalyst architecture with a Cd single atom mediated S‐scheme heterojunction formed by interfacing CdS and TiO2 nanoparticles is proposed.
