Effect of light quality on morphogenesis and photosynthetic characteristics of Davidia involucrata seedlings

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2020
To explore the effects of different light qualities on the morphological and physiological indicators of the Davidia involucrata seedlings, LightEmitting Diode (LED) was used to treat the seedlings under different visible light (white, blue, green, and ...

CHANGES IN CHLOROPHYLL a FLUORESCENCE AND PIGMENTS COMPOSITION IN OAK LEAVES WITH GALLS OF TWO CYNIPID SPECIES (Hymenoptera, Cynipidae)

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus, 2018
Gall-inducing insects may cause multiple physiological changes in host plants, such as the loss of photosynthetic pigments and reduced photosynthetic capacity. However, the direction of these changes is usually insect species-dependent.

Warming modifies trophic impacts of invading shrimp with impact varying among primary producers

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Environmental change drivers, such as climate change and species invasions, can disrupt biological networks and weaken ecosystem stability. Acting together, these drivers may interact and alter the effects on the ecosystem. However, few studies have examined the interactive effects of climate change and species invasions, particularly in aquatic ...

Effects of solar ultraviolet radiation on the photochemical efficiency, photosynthetic pigments and biomass production of Spirulina platensis

open access: yes, 2005
Effects of solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) on Spirulina platensis were studied by investigating its photochemical efficiency, photosynthetic pigments and biomass production while exposed to full spectrum solar radiation or depleted of UVR for ...

Plant responses to iron nutrition with emphasis on the underutilized crop tef (Eragrostis tef): A review

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Iron (Fe) deficiency limits the physical health, cognitive development, and economic output of billions of people globally, especially children and productive‐age women. Tef is an underutilized and stress‐resilient crop, which is becoming popular for its grains containing high bioavailable Fe and has the potential to mitigate Fe deficiency.

Photosynthetic pigments' condition in vegetative organs of woody plants in urban environment

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Ecology and Life Safety, 2010
Human activity influences on all environment components, including vegetation. Quantative content and photosynthetic pigments' rate are changing in vegetative organs of plants growing in technogenical environment.

Introgressed Brassica napus × Sinapis alba enhance resistance to the crucifer flea beetle (Phyllotreta cruciferae)

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Brassica napus lines with Sinapis alba introgressions enhanced resistance against Phyllotreta cruciferae, resulting in reduced feeding damage and improved seedling physiological performance. The introgressed lines showed strong potential as genetic resources for developing more resilient and sustainable canola varieties ...

Chlorantraniliprole: bioactivation in coffee seedlings and control of resistant Leucoptera coffeella populations

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Chlorantraniliprole enhanced growth and biomass in coffee seedlings infested by susceptible Leucoptera coffeella, while resistant populations limited its insecticidal performance. These findings emphasize both the bioactivator potential of chlorantraniliprole and the challenges of managing resistance in coffee leaf miner control.
