On the photosynthetic characteristics of high yielding rice varieties. I. Leaf photosynthetic rate.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 1990
The leaf photosynthetic rate of pot-cultivated rice plants was measured under the condition of artificial lighting and, at the same time, its relations to their some relevant characters were examined with five different varieties of rice plants, Musashikogane, Akenohoshi, Sweon 262, Nanking 11, and RP 9-3.

A Rare Allele of ST5 From Wild Rice Enhances Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel salt‐tolerance gene ST5W, characterized by a unique 36‐bp promoter insertion, is found exclusively in a small subset of Oryza rufipogon and is absent in cultivated rice. Field trials confirm ST5W significantly enhances rice yield across diverse genetic backgrounds under saline conditions.

3D Chromatin Architecture Provides Insights Into Leaf Trait Variation Among Pear Species

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Three‐dimensional (3D) chromatin architecture plays a fundamental role in eukaryotic gene regulations, its functional significance in perennial fruit trees remains poorly characterized despite extensive applications in crop genomics. Here, we developed high‐resolution (∼5 kb) Hi‐C maps of Pyrus and compared 3D genomic architecture of three ...

Characterization of the Novel Photosynthetic Protein PPP7 involved in Cyclic Electron Flow around PSI [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Photosynthetic organisms are able to convert light energy into chemical energy by the operation of the two photosystems, the cytochrome b6/f complex and the ATPase.

Effects of leaf soluble sugars content and net photosynthetic rate of quince donor shoots on subsequent morphogenesis in leaf explants

open access: yes, 2011
The effects of different growth conditions (ventilated and closed vessels, medium with 0, 15 and 30 g dm-3 sucrose) during proliferation of donor quince (Cydonia oblonga Mill.) shoots (stage I) on net photosynthetic rate and soluble sugars content were ...

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Picosecond fluorescence of intact and dissolved PSI-LHCI crystals

open access: yes, 2008
Over the last years many crystal structures of photosynthetic pigment-protein complexes have been determined, and used extensively to model spectroscopic results obtained on the same proteins in solution. However, the crystal structure is not necessarily
