Optimal control of photovoltaic arrays
Mathematics and Computers in Simulation, 2013A high value of the energy conversion efficiency is not the only feature a photovoltaic power processing system must have. An optimal control of the photovoltaic generator must be also designed in order to maximize the electrical power it produces, even in presence of a time varying irradiation level or when a part of the photovoltaic source is shaded.

A Photovoltaic Array Simulator
International Journal of Solar Energy, 1982Abstract A system simulating the output voltage-current characteristics of a photovoltaic array is described. The simulator may be used to test the performance of PV arrays and associated power conditioning equipment necessary for the autonomous or interconnected operation of photovoltaic energy sources. The simulator's main features include simplicity

Photovoltaic array environmental protection program
Proceedings of the 24th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference, 2003During the photovoltaic array environmental protection program, a coating material, application technique, and design approach intended to protect flexible solar array blankets during a nominal fifteen-year operating lifetime were developed. Numerous thin-film coatings for protecting the Kapton polyimide material used in the construction of the Space ...

Pspice Modelling of Photovoltaic Arrays
International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 1995PSPICE modelling of photovoltaic arrays A detailed model of a photovoltaic array written in PSPICE is presented in this paper. The powerful graphics post-processor that accompanies the software program is used to display array characteristics as a function of certain parameters such as insulation and temperature.

Simulation of large photovoltaic arrays
Solar Energy, 2018Abstract Large photovoltaic arrays are becoming common as the world moves to replace fossil-fuelled electricity generators. As the array size and project cost increase, it becomes increasingly important to know accurately what the array’s performance will be before it is built.

Photovoltaic array loss mechanisms
Solar Cells, 1986Loss mechanisms which come into play when solar cell modules are mounted in arrays are identified. Losses can occur either from a reduction in the array electrical performance or with nonoptimal extraction of power from the array. Electrical performance degradation is caused by electrical mismatch, transmission losses from cell surface soiling and ...
