The High-Concentrator Photovoltaic Module

2015
High-concentrator photovoltaic (HCPV) modules incorporate solar cells, optical devices, cooling mechanisms, and other elements in an assembly to provide the functions required to concentrate sunlight and obtain electricity. The variety of designs for configuring HCPV modules is introduced in this chapter.

20% efficient photovoltaic module

IEEE Electron Device Letters, 1993
Describes the first 20% efficient flat-plate photovoltaic module ever reported. The 743-cm/sup 2/ module is based on large-area PERL silicon cells (passivated emitter rear locally diffused) of average unencapsulated efficiency of 21.3%, giving an independently confirmed module energy conversion efficiency of 20.6% under standard test conditions.

Photovoltaically powered modulating retroreflectors

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
The development of a photovoltaically (PV) powered, laser communication system that constitutes a miniature, highly energy-efficient wireless communication technology is described. The technology is based on the direct integration of a multi-quantum well (MQW) modulating retroreflector (MRR) optical communication node and a monolithically integrated ...

Methylammonium-Free Perovskite Photovoltaic Modules

ACS Nano
For perovskite photovoltaic industrialization, it is essential to simultaneously achieve high conversion efficiency, long-term stability, and scalable fabrication of modules. Halide perovskites with the ABX3 structure are composed of A-site monovalent cations, (e.g., formamidinium (FA+), methylammonium (MA+), and Cs+), B-site divalent cations ...

Modelling the photovoltaic module

2011 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2011
This paper refers into various ways in simulation the Photovoltaic (PV) module behaviour under any combination of solar irradiation and ambient temperature. There are three different approaches presented here briefly and one of them is chosen because of its good accuracy and relatively low computational time.

Multichip module photovoltaic miniarrays

IEEE Transactions on Advanced Packaging, 2001
In this work a novel concept of photovoltaic mini array assembly is described based on a flip-chip multichip module technology. A number of arrays composed of 15 series-connected 2 mm/sup 2/ c-Si photovoltaic cells have been fabricated, achieving a packaging density of 40 cells/cm/sup 2/.

Photovoltaic spatial light modulator

Journal of Applied Physics, 1991
A novel concept for implementing a high-resolution spatial light modulator using a thin slab of photorefractive LiNbO3 crystal is described. This method uses the photovoltaic effect to impress phase information onto the crystal without the use of holography where coherent reference beams are required.

The AC photovoltaic module

Conference Record of the Twenty Fifth IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference - 1996, 1996
This paper describes the design, development and performance of a large-area photovoltaic module whose electrical output is AC power suitable for direct connection to the utility grid. The AC PV module, developed with support from the US DOE and NREL under the PV:BONUS Program, incorporates a dedicated, integrally mounted, high-efficiency 250 Watt DC ...

Photovoltaic Modules Destruction Analysis

ECS Transactions, 2014
In this paper we present the analysis of the causes that caused the destruction of photovoltaic modules cover glass in the group of modules randomly located in the photovoltaic field. Operator of photovoltaic system excluded the possibility of damage of these modules by impact of foreign objects because of their location in the photovoltaic field and ...
