Kobunshi Kagaku, 1958 ビス (β・ヒドロキシエチル) テレフタレートを単独で加熱溶融した場合, 自己縮合反応の結果, エチレングリコールを放出する。このようにして生成したグリコールを一定時間ごとに過ヨウ素酸法によって定量し, エステル交換の反応速度を追跡した。この反応を密閉系で, 単独および少量のグリコールの存在で反応を開始せしめたところ, 平衡定数として1が得られた。比較的低温で, しかも無触媒反応の初期に限れば, 可逆反応を考慮に入れた2分子反応の形式にきわめてよく合致する。しかし比較的高温においては, エチレングリコールの一方の水酸基がエステル化されたものは, 熱分解を受けやすく, 定性的に酸およびアルデヒドが検出された。同時にこのことが原因となって, 触媒としてNa-アルコラートの存在する場合 ...
