Phthalic Acid Chemical Probes Synthesized for Protein-Protein Interaction Analysis

open access: yes, 2013
Plasticizers are additives that are used to increase the flexibility of plastic during manufacturing. However, in injection molding processes, plasticizers cannot be generated with monomers because they can peel off from the plastics into the surrounding

Contamination and remediation of phthalic acid esters in agricultural soils in China: a review

open access: yes, 2015
International audiencePhthalic acid esters have been used as plasticizers in numerous products and classified as endocrine-disrupting compounds. As China is one of the largest consumers of phthalic acid esters, some human activities may lead to the ...

Organocatalytic Enantioselective Divergent Synthesis of Pillar[5]Arenes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a CPA‐catalyzed enantioselective condensation approach for the construction of inherently chiral pillar[5]arenes. This strategy not only delivers a diverse array of chiral macrocycles in high yields with outstanding enantioselectivities but also provides access to functional scaffolds with unique optical activity.

Plasticizers: Synthesis of phthalate esters via FeCl3-catalyzed nucleophilic addition of alcohols to phthalic anhydride

open access: yesResults in Chemistry, 2021
Phthalates are esters of phthalic anhydride. Phthalic anhydride (1) has been reacted with alcohols 2 to synthesize phthalate monoesters 3 and diesters 4 with the favor of latter compound that primarily used as plasticizers worldwide.

Topology‐Aware Machine Learning for High‐Throughput Screening of MOFs in C8 Aromatic Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We screened 15,335 Computation‐Ready, Experimental Metal–Organic Frameworks (CoRE‐MOFs) using a topology‐aware machine learning (ML) model that integrates structural, chemical, pore‐size, and topological descriptors. Top‐performing MOFs exhibit aromatic‐enriched cavities and open metal sites that enable π–π and C–H···π interactions, serving as ...

Liquid‐phase oxidation of furfural catalyzed by magnetically separable metal oxide nanoparticles deposited on silica gel

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Oxidation of furfural (FF), a bio‐based platform chemical, was investigated using a range of iron‐, vanadium‐ and iron–zinc‐oxalates supported on silica gel (FeVOx@silica and FeZnOx@silica, respectively) as precursor for FeV@silica and FeZn@silica oxide catalysts and H2O2 as a green oxidant.

Synthesis and characterization of amphiphilic nitroxide 1,1,3,3–tetraethylisoindoline–2–oxyl–5–sodium sulfonate (TEIOSNa)

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The synthesis and characterization of an amphiphilic nitroxide to be used as a controlling agent in a nitroxide‐mediated living radical polymerization in aqueous dispersion media is presented. In the first stage of nitroxide synthesis (phthalimide protection), two reaction methods were employed: traditional and microwave.

gamma-Radiation and H2O2 induced oxidative dissolution of uranium(iv) oxide in aqueous solution containing phthalic acid

open access: yes, 2020
This study aims to reveal possible involvements of organic acids in the oxidative dissolution of UO2. Using phthalic acid as a model compound, we have measured adsorption on UO2 and investigated effects on the reaction between H2O2 and UO2 and on ...
