Concentrations of higher dicarboxylic acids C5–C13 in fresh snow samples collected at the High Alpine Research Station Jungfraujoch during CLACE 5 and 6 [PDF]
Samples of freshly fallen snow were collected at the high alpine research station Jungfraujoch (Switzerland) in February and March 2006 and 2007, during the Cloud and Aerosol Characterization Experiments (CLACE) 5 and 6. In this study a new technique has

Polyimides with improved compression moldability [PDF]
The semicrystalline polyimide prepared by reaction of 3,3',4,4' benzophenonetetracarboxylic (BTDA) and 1,3-bis(4-aminophenoxy 4' benzoyl) benzene (1,3-BABB) is modified so that it can be more readily processed to form adhesive bonds, moldings, and ...

A practical and scalable route to C1 and C2 lysine homologs has been developed using Hofmann degradation of N‐protected L‐asparagine and L‐glutamine as the key step. These short‐tether scaffolds enable efficient synthesis of diverse Fmoc‐protected noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) bearing donor, acceptor, redox‐active, and fluorescent residues.

Biomass‐derived hydrochars as eco‐friendly adsorbents for wastewater treatment applications
Abstract Emerging organic pollutants (EOPs), such as diethyl phthalate (DEP), bisphenol A (BPA), and methylene blue (MB), are only partially removed in conventional wastewater treatment plants. This study assesses hydrochars produced by hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) of spruce bark (SB), vine shoots (VSs), and wheat straw (WSs) for removing three ...

Metathesis‐derived cyclopentene epoxides enable strictly alternating, scrambling‐free ring‐opening copolymerization with phthalic thioanhydride, yielding well‐defined polythioesters with molecular weights up to ∼38 kg/mol. Their performance extends to oxygen‐based anhydrides and selective terpolymerizations. Direct comparisons with all‐oxygen analogues

The benzene polycarboxylic acid (BPCA) pattern of wood pyrolyzed between 200°C and 1000°C [PDF]
Environmental charcoals represent a poorly defined part of the black carbon (BC) combustion continuum and may differ widely in their chemical and physical properties, depending on combustion conditions and source material. The benzene polycarboxylic acid
