Cholesterol in Physalia physalis

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology, 1968
Abstract 1. 1. Acetone extracts of whole floats of the siphonophore Physalia physalis included an abundant steroid. This was identified as cholesterol by thin-layer chromatography, by infrared absorption, by nuclear magnetic resonance and by mass spectroscopy. 2. 2. Chemical confirmation was achieved by conversion to cholesteryl acetate, by

Lactols from Physalis grisea

Fitoterapia, 2022
From the extracts of stems and leaves as well as of calyxes of Physalis grisea were isolated four withalactols, the new griselactols A (3) and B (6) and the known physapubescin (1) and peruvianolide E (2). Other four known compounds were also isolated, kaempferol 3-O-β-sophoroside (5) and three sterols.

Physalis

American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Fluids Engineering Division (Publication) FED, 2000
A new computational method for the full viscous flow past cylinders and spheres is described and illustrated with preliminary results. The starting point is the obvious remark that, due to the no-slip condition, in the body rest frame the velocity is very small near the body surface.

Withanolides from Physalis coztomatl

Phytochemistry, 2015
Six withanolides (1-6), as well as two known withanolides (physachenolide D 7 and withanoside VI 8), were isolated from the aerial parts of Physalis coztomatl (Solanaceae). Structural elucidations of 1-6 were achieved through 2D NMR and other spectroscopic techniques, while the structure of 1 was confirmed by X-ray crystallographic analysis.

Biochemical and sensory quality of Physalis (Physalis pubescens L.) juice [PDF]

open access: possible, 2010
Ground cherry (Physalis pubescens L.) is one of the most promising exotic fruits and some interesting functional products could be developed from these berries. The fresh juice was yellowish or orangey and had a light, sweet taste with acidic nature (pH 3.5).
