Two new species of Diderma (Physarales, Didymiaceae) from northern China

open access: closedPhytotaxa, 2022
Diderma is one of the most abundant species in Myxomycetes. Based on the study of morphology and phylogeny, two new species—Diderma liaoningensis (is characterized by grouped sporocarps, the sporocyst with dehiscence lines, capillitium with large brown ...

First records of Badhamia ovispora (Physarales, Myxomycetes) in Russia

open access: closedNovosti sistematiki nizshikh rastenii
The rare myxomycete Badhamia ovispora was found for the first time in Russia from the Perm Territory and Moscow Region. Morphological features of specimens of this species were studied in detail using light and scanning electron microscopy.

Critical revision of Physarales and Reticulariales (Myxomycetes) at the Natural History Museum London (BM)

open access: closedPhytotaxa
Light and scanning electron microscopy were applied to re-assess diagnostic characters of type specimens and critical specimens of Diachea radiata, D. splendens, D. subsessilis, Diderma arboreum, Didymium. laxifilum, D. leoninum var.

Diderma laiseae (Didymiaceae, Physarales), a new species of Myxomycetes from Brazil

open access: closedPhytotaxa
We describe a new species, Diderma laiseae, based on detailed morphological analyses. The type material was collected in the field from dead wood and insect remains (coleoptera) within Floresta Nacional de Silvânia, a conservation unit in the Cerrado ...

Diderma aglomerospora (Didymiaceae, Physarales, Myxomycetes), a new species from Brazil

open access: closedPhytotaxa, 2021
Diderma aglomerospora is here proposed as a new species based on morphological analyses. The new species resembles D. badhamioides by possessing clustered spores but differs from it by the absence of a columella and narrower filaments of the capillitium.

The life cycles of two species of Myxomycetes in Physarales, Physarum rigidum and Didymium squamulosum

open access: closedJournal of Basic Microbiology, 2019
Myxomycetes are eukaryotic microorganisms containing characteristics akin to both fungi and amoebae. They can complete their whole life cycles while being cultured on agar media, and under‐laboratory conditions, which favors taxonomic, phylogenetic, and ...

Taxonomic significance of isozyme patterns of some myxomycetes, order Physarales, produced with starch gel electrophoresis. [PDF]

open access: closedMycologia, 1968
Plasmodia of 10 myxomycete isolates, order Physarales, were subjected to electrophoresis in starch gel medium and subsequently stained for each of four enzymes: nonspecific esterase, malate dehydro...
