Towards information theory for q-nonextensive statistics without q-deformed distributions

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we extend our recent results [Physica A340 (2004)110] on q-nonextensive statistics with non-Tsallis entropies. In particular, we combine an axiomatics of Renyi with the q-deformed version of Khinchin axioms to obtain the entropy which ...

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess

Construction of 3D wormhole supported by phantom energy

open access: yes, 2007
In this article, we have found a series solution of 3D Einstein equations describing a wormhole for an inhomogeneous distribution of phantom energy. Here, we assume equation of state is linear but highly anistropic.Comment: 9 papge, 4 figures.

Characterization of an Injectable Poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin Hydrogel for Growth Factor Delivery in an Orthopedic Application

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces photo‐crosslinkable tyraminated poly(vinyl alcohol)‐gelatin (PVA‐GT) hydrogels as tunable injectable platforms for tissue engineering and growth factor delivery applications. This schematic illustrates the two developed hydrogel formulations and the experimental workflow used to evaluate their physico‐chemical properties in vitro ...

Ginsburg-Landau Expansion in a non-Fermi Superconductor

open access: yes, 2000
We study the Ginsburg-Landau expansion for the non-Fermi model proposed by Anderson. We analyze the deviations of the main properties of a non-Fermi superconductor from the isotropic s-wave bidimensiona superconductor.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures ...

Melt Electrowriting High Resolution Poly(ethylene‐co‐vinyl acetate) Scaffolds for Soft Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work pioneers melt electrowriting (MEW) of polyethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA) to fabricate ultra‐compliant, high‐resolution scaffolds. By integrating microscale precision with soft tissue‐like biomechanics, PEVA overcomes stiffness‐driven limitations of conventional MEW polymers, establishing a mechanically biomimetic platform for soft tissue ...

Comparison of Electrorheological Measurements Based on Different Methods of Electric Field Generation

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2014
Electrorheological measurements represent a key approach in characterizing the efficiency of electrorheological fluids. The rotational rheometers, the Physica MCR 501 (Anton Paar) equipped with an electrorheological cell and the Bohlin Gemini CVOR 150 ...

The “Physica Mosaica” of Johann Heinrich Alsted (1588–1638)

open access: yesTeorie vědy, 2020
Some early modern scholars believed that Scripture provided more certain knowledge than all secular authorities – even Aristotle – or investigating nature as such.

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Tracing the Dynamics of Errors. Albert the Great and the Presocratics on the Void

open access: yesNoctua
This article brings to light a complex ‘dynamic of errors’ which Albert, in his Commentary on Aristotle’s Physica, uses to elaborate on the problem of the void.
