A simple two‐stage extrusion aligns supramolecular fibrils into 1D gel noodles. The residual pressure in the viscous pre‐gel drives the formation of a thin filament that is locked by Ca2+ cross‐linker into a highly anisotropic segment. The aligned noodles show enhanced tensile strength and guide myoblast elongation along the fiber, mimicking aligned ...

Suárez on the Contingency of Causal Origin
ABSTRACT Do individuals have their actual causal origins necessarily? Or could one and the same individual also have had a causal origin other than its actual one? Late medieval and early modern Aristotelians confront this question in the course of their discussions of the metaphysics of causation. In this paper, I discuss and evaluate Francisco Suárez'

Superstatistics from a different perspective
In this paper we elaborate on the recently proposed superstatistics formalism [C. Beck and E.G.D. Cohen, Physica A 322, 267 (2003)], used to interpret unconventional statistics.

Can Coastal Rowing Be Made Safer Through Auxetics‐Inspired Personal Protective Equipment?
A survey of beach sprint coastal rowers examined perceived injury risk, attitudes towards personal protective equipment (PPE) and barriers to its use. The findings were used to guide the design of auxetic‐based PPE for this sport that is highly conforming, breathable and visually appealing. We report the results of a survey aimed at assessing how beach
