Physical characterization of polycaprolactone scaffolds
Films and sponges were prepared from a solution of Poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The porosity, crystallinity, and mechanical properties of the samples were studied. Porosity of around 15% was obtained for the films produced by evaporation of THF at room temperature.

Characterizing scientific production and consumption in Physics [PDF]
We analyze the entire publication database of the American Physical Society generating longitudinal (50 years) citation networks geolocalized at the level of single urban areas. We define the knowledge diffusion proxy, and scientific production ranking algorithms to capture the spatio-temporal dynamics of Physics knowledge worldwide.

Bioclimatic and physical characterization of the world’s islands [PDF]
The Earth’s islands harbor a distinct, yet highly threatened, biological and cultural diversity that has been shaped by geographic isolation and unique environments. Island systems are key natural laboratories for testing theory in ecology and evolution.

A characterization of subsystems in physics [PDF]
Working within the framework of the propositional system formalism, we use a previous study [1] of the description of two independent physical systems as one big physical system to derive a characterization of a (non-interacting) physical subsystem. We discuss the classical case and the quantum case.

Physical Characterization of the “Immunosignaturing Effect”
Identifying new, effective biomarkers for diseases is proving to be a challenging problem. We have proposed that antibodies may offer a solution to this problem. The physical features and abundance of antibodies make them ideal biomarkers. Additionally, antibodies are often elicited early in the ontogeny of different chronic and infectious diseases. We
